Wooden House Sign - Aldersyde

This wooden house sign is most likely the work of a professional signwriter.

It is straightforward and effective; its simplicity is quite charming.

The white lettering with black shadow nicely fills the chamfered wooden nameplate and stands out well against the purplish brown background. The fixing screws could have been more judiciously placed so there are not so obvious.

However, the sign does display the effects of weathering especially along the top edge. It will be necessary to repaint the background to prevent further deterioration. Though it will be difficult to successfully paint around the lettering.
