Stone Farm Sign |
|
|
Farm sign made by carving lettering into a cylindrical stone block and mounting it on a plinth – Longleas Farm. The hand carved stone block is a very nice object in its own right, so to put it to such good use as a sign at the entrance to the property is an added bonus. The metal rods protruding from each end of the stone suggest a previous use as a grass roller. This is a clever and inventive way to use a redundant piece of farm machinery.
The only thing I would suggest is that the lettering would be better
gilded using outdoor grade of gold leaf. This would really set it
off and make it exceptionally distinctive. One thing’s for certain –
with this sign being so heavy it’s never going to be stolen! |
